Hi I'm from 'Hearts n Health'! « Thread Started on Jan 27, 2006, 10:48pm »
My name is Teri and I'm the admin at Hearts n Health. The board is as you can tell by the name, mainly a Heart board, altho we do get into other topics. Our major focus is on Heart Health, Heart Attacks, Heart Failure, then we diverge into Allergies, Asthma and other Lung diseases. We cover some General Health Topics, including Diabetes, Cancer, Alzheimer's, Migraine Headaches and "Whatever Ails You". I'm known as a great researcher, and my background for this board, is my own health problems which involve the heart and heart failure, I worked as a nurse for many years til back problems took me out, and I'm a former moderator of two other Cardiovascular health boards. So you don't have to be ill to visit us, we have many "healthy" people on the board, a couple of them are teens that are very close to me in real life. So if you'd like to stop by and say hello, or go to the fun room, utilize our chat room, we'd love to have you! http://heartsnhealth.proboards77.com

Hi,
Is there anyone else here with a health board? If not I'd like you all to know that you are more than welcome to stop in! We enjoy new people of all ages and we have some resources available in the form of current medical search bars with the latest news, even if you'd like to use it for homework!
So just take a peek and if you feel braver, come on in!

Hi Nesh and Everyone!
Sorry it took so long to get back, but I've been really working hard on my board and a couple of others, along with teaching myself some very minor graphic things.
Even though Hearts n Health centers on Heart Disease and Angioplasties of the coronary arteries, carotid arteries, and now expanding into Angioplasties of the Renal (or Kidney) arteries...I'm seeing such an interest in General Health Issues that it's opened up a lot more topics in that area, and we started a Heart Health Awareness Section that includes recipes and exercise options.
I have to include a story here that really happened recently and personally to me. My daughter is joining the Navy and needed to be on the safe side with her weight, so I put her not on a diet, but on a "healthy way to eat and eat less" menu. In less than a week, and it's showing, she's lost 7 lbs.!! Now some of that is most definitely water weight, but she's learned so much in just a week re diet and health, exercise and the right way to do it. She no longer drinks anything with caffeine in it, she's learned that water is her friend, and it helps clear your system of the toxins, vegetables and wheat bread, not white are just a sampling...she has been swimming, walking, anything she can do for about an hour a day or more! So her recruiter tried it to, as he was about to reenlist and needed to loose a few lbs. and he told her to thank me, cuz he did it too!! So come and visit me, were all about health and fun and just learning to live a life of longevity!!
